AirPig is a code-free, niche game engine designed for a single purpose: make pixely ARPG games with tons of loot without worrying about complex engine configuration, programming languages, or frame-by-frame animation. It offers immediate visual feedback that helps you build great animations, interesting maps, and engaging games.

BUILD YOUR OWN MAPS

AirPig's tile-based, auto-mapping system allows editors to focus on map geometry and layout instead of which tile to place at a specific corner. Quickly sketch out rooms, passages and paths and let the editor automatically handle collision, NPC navigation, and layering so you can focus on the creative process.

Once you have created maps, define spawn zones, patrol zones, transition areas to other maps. Add buildings, NPCs, monsters, and containers full of loot for players to explore, fight, and equip!

ANIMATE YOUR OWN CHARACTERS

Animate pixely, 2D characters the way professional 3D artists do: by posing characters at keyframes and automatically animate between poses! Define collision frames, sounds, and particle effects in the animation editor and get immediate visual and audio feedback. Create attractive animations in a fraction of the time it would take to hand draw frames - and use the animations and characters that come with the engine as a reference to develop your own style!

WRITE YOUR OWN STORY

Write quests, associate items and rewards, chain quest dependencies together, and then assign quests to an NPC right in the editor. Drop NPCs into the map, choose their clothes and gear, write their dialog, and give them quests and patrol routes. Playtest with a single click to refine your story and experience.

Create cutscenes and customize the UI to tell give your game a unique vibe. Export all of your quests and dialog to edit or bulk update with your favorite tool.

CREATE YOUR OWN LOOT

Define weapons, armor, and skills. Set pricing ranges, custom animations, attack speeds, and more. Preview how items and attacks will look immediately without leaving the item editor.

Export your items and bulk edit or customize them in your favorite spreadsheet or other game design tool and import them back into the engine to preview and customize.

PACKAGE YOUR OWN CARTRIDGE

When you're finished, let AirPig package your game experience into a digital cartridge file you can share with your friends, or sell commercially! Play and test other creators' content or even develop and share reusable assets.
