You live in a shelter in a world taken by the dark. Each night you send your drone out with night vision and thermal to scavenge food, parts, and the truth. The longer you stay out, the more 'it' notices you. Get home before dawn. Every night is worse. You will not survive. How deep can you go?

A few weeks ago, something arrived. No one knows what. It lives in the dark, it wakes at night, and it is drawn to light, heat, and noise. The people fled. You did not make it out. Now you survive alone in a shelter on abandoned countryside, and the nights keep getting worse.

Your own body is too warm and too slow for the dark. Your drone is not. Every night you fly it out into the black with only two ways to see: grainy night vision that shows the shape of the world, and thermal that reveals heat but lies at distance. Switching between them is a tactical choice, never a free one. Everything that lets you see also lets it find you.

Loot is not just grabbed. It is judged. That heat signature in the barn: food, a drone part, or something that should not be there? The object in the farmhouse window that was not there last night? Misread the signs and you pay for it. Sometimes with time. Sometimes with the run. Sometimes with something following you home.

The drone carries a limited load, and if it goes down out there, you lose everything on board. The battery is draining. Dawn is a hard deadline. Every second is the same choice: one more sweep, or turn home now. The more you carry, the more you have to lose, and the more nervous the flight home becomes.

There is no winning. The dark grows bolder every night until it takes everything, including your shelter. Every run ends in death. What survives is what you learned: the maps you unlocked, the tools you earned, the signs you now know how to read, and one more fragment of the truth about what happened here. Then you go again, and you go deeper.
