Move slowly. Look closely. In this world, the silence speaks, and what hides in the stillness is watching you too.
Cryptid Engine is a slow-burn paranormal investigation sim built for players who'd rather wait in the dark for three minutes than get jump-scared every thirty seconds. There are no puzzles. No objectives ticking down in the corner of your screen. Just you, a camera, and something in the environment that may or may not be aware you're there yet.
Confirmed sightings earn you points. Points unlock new maps — and the deeper you go, the more dangerous (and stranger) those maps get. Progression here isn't about gear, it's about proving you can handle what's next.
All levels are "assembled" using the in-house game engine created in Raylib.
Experienced players are able to:
Use any model they want for the "creature_model" and the "env_model"
Assign an unlock price for their maps (maximum: 1000 pts)
Adjust the behavior of creatures.
Change the texture/sound/model for almost any visual asset used in a map.
The game uses morph keys for variety. Creating a creature is as simple as making a few random poses in Blender and then letting the game randomly pick the values.
