Mai is fifteen, and since her parents died she has been moving through her days as if half-asleep, present on the outside and far away within. Then she meets Pim, an eleven-year-old phii, the warm and friendly kind of ghost from Thai folklore, and the only one Mai can see. Little by little, it is the joyful little ghost who teaches the living girl how to find her way back to joy.
From HumaNature Studios and Greg Johnson, creator of ToeJam & Earl, a deeply personal project written through real-life grief. The village is modeled on his Thai family's home in Bang Pa-In, and it is made from the inside: Thai artists, Thai animators, and Thai voices.
