"The recorder lies. The blood lies. And so do you."Twelve researchers. Nine days. Something is wearing their faces.Deep Frost is a singleplayer social-deduction horror roguelike set on Halstrom Outpost 7, a failing Antarctic research station where a parasitic intelligence called the Thaw has begun copying its hosts. One by one, the crew is being replaced.
You are one of them. Maybe.
Each named researcher keeps a stable job, quirk, and behavioral baseline across runs. Hidden roles, grudges, loyalties, and the suspicion network reshuffle, so familiarity helps without becoming certainty. Every day, another body can go through the airlock. You have until Day 9 to identify the infected, survive the blood test, and hold the station together long enough for the helicopter to return.
Features
- Read, accuse, defuse, bribe, study, plant evidence, and lie your way through a crew that remembers what you did.
- Face round-table interrogations where the crew questions you too. Give the wrong answer and suspicion turns back on you.
- Play as Crew or Thaw: hunt the infection, or become the thing wearing a human face.
- Run station-ops missions under pressure: patch the reactor, hack the airlock, run the blood analysis, and keep the outpost from collapsing.
- Track shifting rapport across twelve named contestants. Help someone and they may testify for you. Burn them and they may bury you.
- Discover anomaly modifiers like White Noise, Frost Loop, Blood Moon, and Recorder Lies.
- Unlock Codex fragments across runs and piece together what keeps happening at Halstrom every eight years.
Twelve named contestants. Not random meeples.
KESH may remember if you backed her. Another crewmate can carry a grudge after one accusation. MOIRA's recordings may stop matching the timestamps. Every contestant is named, traited, and pulled into a web of debts, grudges, fear, and quiet loyalties.
You learn them.
You start to care which ones survive.
You vote one out anyway.
Singleplayer. No baggage.
- No matchmaking queues
- No microtransactions
- No battle pass
- No cosmetics store
- No cheaters, smurfs, or host disconnects
- No scheduling four friends at 2am
The deduction lives in the procedural NPCs. The lies are written, not typed. One purchase, one game, twelve liars, nine days.
For players who like
If you loved The Thing (1982), Gnosia, or Among Us and wanted a singleplayer horror deduction game with named victims, persistent suspicion, and a body count that matters, Deep Frost is built for that lane.
Tone
Paranoid. Cold. Social. Slow-burn.
No jump-scare maze. The dread builds in the silence before a vote, in the crew member who will not meet your eye, in the log that says you were somewhere you were not, and in the blood test when the centrifuge starts humming and nobody speaks.
