About FlatVR
FlatVR transforms your standard, non-VR PC games library into immersive virtual reality experiences. Projects your favorite flat games onto a fully customizable virtual screen inside your VR headset, and introduces stunning stereoscopic 3D depth to games that never had it.
Whether you're playing modern RPGs, first-person shooters, or retro classic titles, FlatVR lets you experience them on a theater-sized screen with physical depth and responsive head tracking.
Key Features:
Real-time Stereoscopic 3D (3D Depth Modes):
AI 3D Depth (Pseudo-3D): High-speed AI heuristics analyze the 2D video feed in real-time, instantly estimating depth layouts and generating a stereoscopic 3D effect.
ReShade Native Depth: Fully integrated with ReShade. Use our custom FlatVR Depth Provider add-on to extract the game's actual 3D depth buffer directly from the engine, giving you pixel-perfect, native-grade 3D parallax without any guess work.
AI 3D Smoothing & Ray-Based Gap Filling: Our proprietary smart post-processing algorithm smooths out stereoscopic image edges and uses ray-cast projection heuristics to automatically fill in visual gaps (occlusions) caused by 3D perspective shifts, delivering a clean, seamless, artifact-free 3D picture.
Side-by-Side (SBS) & Top-Bottom (TAB): Project native stereoscopic output feeds directly into your headset lenses.
Virtual Screen Customization:
Take control of your virtual environment. Adjust screen distance, scale, vertical height, curvature (for maximum wrap-around immersion), and tilt.
Immersive Ambilight (Ambient Glow): Softens the border of the screen, dynamically casting matching colored light into the dark VR space surrounding your virtual monitor to reduce eye strain and blend your game seamlessly with the virtual room.
Head Tracking Integration:
Map your headset's physical rotation to mouse movements or emulate the industry-standard OpenTrack (UDP) protocol. Control the game camera naturally simply by looking around—making it perfect for car, racing, and flight simulators (such as Assetto Corsa, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Dirt Rally, and more).
Virtual Monitor Emulation:
Create a virtual primary display inside Windows to play at resolutions beyond your physical monitor's capabilities (e.g. 4K, 21:9 Ultrawide, or 32:9 Super-Ultrawide) for an incredibly wide field of view.
Zero-Latency Capture:
Leverages the high-performance Windows Graphics Capture (WGC) API to stream your game screen with zero noticeable input lag or performance overhead.
