As captain of a Unified Earth Forces starship, you are thrust into the heart of a counter-offensive against humanity's foes, leading daring missions deep into enemy territory. Fight in space and on the ground as you spearhead the assault, establish vital footholds, and pave the way for our Marine landing forces.
Think strategically as you deploy barriers, turrets, gates, and barbed wire on the planet to safeguard the area against relentless waves of enemies. Or, if it's been a long day, maybe you can just build a wall of turrets. The enemy will get the message. Create a secure zone to allow our Marines to land safely. After reinforcements arrive and you've succeeded in your mission, you can keep coming back to the planet to work on the base and fight off enemies!
Test your skills as a starship captain as you evade hostile fire, strafe alien space stations, and escort ships during fleet battles. Blast incoming missiles with your ship's point-defense turret and strike hard with your railguns. Dominate the fight and secure victory.
Fortified Space offers more than just adrenaline-pumping combat. Take a break from the battlefield to walk around your ship, talk to your crew, and read the news articles that update after each mission. Gather materials through asteroid mining, hydroponic farming, and composting. You can even kick around a soccer ball or play a target-shooting arcade game.
Ready for shore leave? Fly to Earth and explore the civic and cultural institutions in humanity's capital. Don't forget to visit the Library of Earth to read about the Interplanetary War and other interesting topics.
This demo comes with early-game planets and a brief taste of space combat to whet your appetite. Many of the features of the full game are available, but the demo only includes the very beginnings of the campaign. That being said, there is no overall time limit for gameplay, and the plan is to keep this demo active indefinitely for you to enjoy. The demo lets you:
Fully explore and operate your ship. Fly it and fight with it.
Complete a full space-to-ground assault of an enemy planet. Forgrit, a desert planet that the enemy has used as a staging point for attacks on our Solar System, has been located. Warp to the planet, destroy any orbital defenses, and land on the surface to establish a fortified spaceport for our main landing force to use. Set up barriers and turrets, and expect heavy resistance.
Join the start of a fleet battle. After the Battle of Forgrit, an enemy fleet was detected traveling to the planet to launch a counterattack. Join the Unified Earth Navy fleet and meet the enemy in open space. The demo limits this mission to 60 seconds.
Visit the capital city on Earth. Tour the major civic institutions of humanity. Make sure to spend some time in the Library of Earth, where you can read some of the lore!
