They're back! And they are not here to negotiate.
Galactic Retribution Vol.1 is a fast-paced, single-player arcade shooter built for anyone who grew up on the golden age of arcade shmups and never stopped wanting more.
True to its early-80s inspiration, your ship moves left and right only — pure, unfiltered classic-arcade tension, no shortcuts. (Vol.2 continues the story in the late-80s/90s era, when full 2D movement enters the fight.)
Every level throws something new into your path:
randomized enemy formations that never play out the same way twice,
reinforcement waves that swarm in the moment you think you've cleared the field,
and a rogue's gallery of boss encounters that are as strange as they are dangerous
— a stuttering space-cowboy octopus hurling lasers from inside an asteroid field,
a flickering digital squid that can invert your controls mid-fight,
a semi-android space monkey riding a hoverboard-mounted cannon capable of cutting moons in half.
And that's before the finale.
Randomized attack formations across a full cast of alien enemies — including one that can suddenly split into a fast, clinging ambush-form mid-fight
Juggernauts, Guardians, and Drones reinforce the fight, with dedicated support enemies backing up specific boss battles
5 wildly different boss fights, each with its own gimmick, support enemies, and fully animated sprite work
Care package drops for extra lives and special weapon uses
7 game modes — from a relaxed CryBaby mode with unlimited lives, to a no-continues Ironman gauntlet across 128 levels, to riffs on classic brick-breaking and falling-block puzzle action
30+ achievements to chase
Retro-style high score boards
Full 80s neon arcade aesthetic, with unique hand-animated sprites for every enemy, elite, and boss
