The island caught up in BIG RACE fever, where the participants compete to become GO KART CHAMPION.
Lachlan the highland cow arrives on the island full of hope to win the BIG RACE, but the weasel Mayor has an election campaign to fund and demands you raise 1,000 coins for an "entry fee". Talk about a corrupt official. But just HOW can you raise such a ludicrous amount of coins?
Well, you're in luck! The inhabitants of Go Kart Island have no shortage of activities they would like you to partake in and they offer cold, hard cash as a reward. And all of them just happen to be mega fun, guaranteed!*

What good is a karting game without races? Classic karting rules apply, use items to take out your opponents and reach the finish in 1st place. But watch out, some races require you to perform side objectives so not everything is a straight dash to the finish!
Circuit Race: A classic race around multiple laps of a circuit with little other shenanigans in sight. Except from the obstacles and items you can use to overtake and fend off your rivals, of course.
Checkpoint Race: Beat your rivals to first place is not enough, you also have to beat the concept of TIME ITESELF. Reach checkpoints before the timer runs out!
Collect Race: Coins are littered around the circuit and you have to get them all and win the race. Why? I dunno.
Elimination Race: If you’re in last place at the end of the lap you’re eliminated. Nobody knows what happens to people that are eliminated, but it definitely means you’re out of the race.
Death Race: Avoid being hit by items and obstacles - if you run out of health you’re dead! Well not really dead, but your hopes of winning the race certainly are.
Street Race: An unsanctioned and possibly illegal (whatever that means) event where you race from one point on the island to another. Look out for traffic as you let your rivals eat your dust.

Test your speedy driving skills in time trials. The islanders are an impatient bunch and need your help to get to their destination as fast as possible but INEXPLICABLE obstacles tend to appear out of nowhere. It’d be a bit boring otherwise wouldn’t it?
Things are lost, and you have to track them down and run them over with your kart as fast as possible. Well, how else are you supposed to collect things? Slowly and with care? That would be stupid.
How about a classic high speed chase? Perhaps you have to pursue a mouse whose wife suspects him of having an affair (a.k.a. mouse-dultery) or even escape yourself from the local karting gang of ducks. Yeah, ducks. Quack!
There's even a CRAZY event where you have to TAXI people around the island to deliver them to their destinations and rush to get the next fare.

Every moment on Go Kart Island isn't taken up by taking part in some kind of wild event. There's a whole island to explore! From the mountain top, to the airport, to the lagoon there is much to see and do. Find coins, gems and smash the mayor's advertising boards as you take in a seemingly impossible amount of diverse scenery and climates for a single island.
