Map like it’s 1992—without the eraser crumbs. Ruinwright is a simple, hand-drawn, grid-paper dungeon mapper for classic RPGs and adventures. Drop rooms, doors, and notes on a rather large canvas, zoom with ease, autosave your progress, and stack unlimited levels above and below.

DIdja' ever want a simple, no BS mapping program that didn't cost some outrageous monthly fee? Well, guess what, before Ruinwright, there really wasn't one. Believe me, I fricken' looked.
It all started one fateful afternoon when I said to myself, "Hey me, wouldn't it be cool if we went back to try and play through all the amazing games we had (or didn't have) as a kid?" Obviously I told myself "HELL YES!" What I didn't realize was the need I would soon have for some way to map these games as I played them. Games like Eye of the Beholder, Wizardy 7 or Black Crypt for the Amiga all require some sort of map-making endeavor, or you just end up running around forever, lost in their fake 3D worlds.
Now, you're probably saying, "But Developer Dude, you could just use graph paper, right?"
I say NAY you imbecile! For you see, my fingers begin to cramp at the mere thought of holding a pencil!
Well, a lot, actually. Ruinwright features the following.. features:
Save & Load your maps! I mean, that's kinda a prerequisite for any bit of niche software, I suppose.
Room Notes! Write notes right on the map itself, OR inside each room, notebook style! The choice is yours, my friend!
Lines and Doors! I realized that not all games follow the classic 'grid-based' movement pattern, so the option to add node lines and place doors either inside the rooms or on the edges exists so you can use Ruinwright to map anything, from some obscure RPG to Leisure Suit Larry, Ruinwright's got you covered.
Map Zoom! Easily zoom in and out of your map. If you're a blind old man like me, zooming becomes a necessity for sure.
A Large Canvas & Unlimited Levels! Whether mapping large or small, Ruinwright adapts to the size of your maps and gives you the ability to make multiple levels, either up or down, as needed! Got 99 levels? No worries, mate!
Icons! I've included icons of various things you might need to map, such as spike traps, pressure plates, switches, NPCs, etc. I'm hoping to add more as I go or even different themes, but that really depends on you all and how much you want it. Tell me, do you want it? Well do you?!?
Export Options! Export your maps out easily into printable PNGs and JPGs. Feeling frisky? You can also export them out as JSON files and import them into your favorite game dev tool for an easy way to create 3D maps from your 2D creations.
Whether you need to map that obscure dungeon from 1989 or need something to mockup a quick dungeon for your TTRPG sessions, Ruinwright will make you smile with delight or your money back. That's the Sam Thul seal of quality.
