Your potato family has been harvested!
Bad news! The farmers have discovered the potatoes' hiding spot, and they have harvested everyone—everyone but you! You must save them! But how…
What about with all those cool and useful tools in your back pocket, as well as your unresenting commitment to save your family!
Features
A crucial aspect of the game is that your player is treated as a physical object. This means the game considers exactly your physical properties such as hitbox, centre of gravity, mass, buoyancy, elasticity, and who knows what else.
This also means many parts of the game rely on your capacity to effectively manipulate the physics of you and/or objects around you, like preserving/redirecting momentum. Get ready to feel dizzy!
May you and I be at the mercy of the Godot engine…
The main obstacle of the game will be the myriad of puzzles littered throughout the world. Building on the fact that everything is affected by physics, many puzzles will require precision in timing inputs and direction, and carefully planned sequences of actions.
I hope those gears are turning because things might get wacky…
But is that it? I sure hope not, for your journey to save your family shall not only produce physics and puzzles, but also complex questions:
Why are you a potato? Why do you have cool and useful tools in your back pocket? Why do the farmers want you?
To potato or not to potato; that is the question...
Your journey will be long and treacherous, oh yes. You will find yourself in many environments, each introducing new and more wacky mechanics and more complex puzzles!
A total of 6 worlds are planned for the complete game: the field, the forest, the truck, the city, the sewers, and finally the cosmodrome.
A potato with cool and useful tools in its back pocket does sound powerful on paper, but unfortunately, you will probably spend less than 1% of your playtime on paper, if at all.
Luckily, you possess yet another power that is arguably even more powerful than all previously mentioned powers: the power of friendship!
Recruit a character from each area of the game to join your party! (as in they follow you around on your journey and goof around and get into unfathomable dangers—sometimes helping you, but mostly getting into unfathomable dangers)
But you don't have to complete every main task presented to you and speedrun the game. The world is big, and a big world comes with many offshoot areas not part of the main path!
Who knows what rewards await you at the end of that tangent? A deeper connection with an NPC that'll benefit you at the end of the game? Playable characters? Pidden levels? Cosmetics? Death?
Spoiler: ALL OF THE ABOVE!
Why is that guy sitting in a dumpster? Maybe I should talk to them…
Some characters may like you so much that they offer to sell their soul to you in the form of being a playable character!
These characters have unique physical properties, modes of transportation, or special effects that may make some impossible tasks a piece of cake—tasks impossible for any other character!
A few characters may even be so broken that the physics engine literally vomits, making the character unplayable and therefore not broken.
But never forget who you truly are, potatoboi…
Certain actions will grant you access to additional levels not central to the game's progression. These will be designed with much more difficult obstacles.
I hope those gears are lubricated because things might get extremely wacky…
Some interesting garments are lying about in the world that you may adorn your character with. Will these give you powers, you may ask…
YES—they grant the power of style!
… And that's it. Still worth collecting them tho.
Note from the dev

This is Sunny, the solo dev of Teleportato!
Currently, I am a university student studying mathematics and computer science, going into my third year. School can get pretty busy, so development will likely slow significantly or stop during the semesters. But I will focus on it whenever I have time, especially during the breaks!
It would be awesome if you guys could support me alongside my dev journey; check out my devlogs on my Instagram (linked somewhere on this page, I think) and drop some comments and feedback!
It has been my lifelong dream to create a transformative game—a game that reaches many people and that has a long-lasting impact on at least one other person in the world. So you can bet that I won't stop until I have achieved this!
