Story

In a old apartment, a happy family of four—young parents and ten-year-old twins—faces ruin when the wife discovers her husband’s affair and her cancer diagnosis. Driven to despair, she falls for the Immolation Cult’s promise of “eternal happiness,” sacrificing her child to an evil spirit’s altar. The fifth floor seals tormented souls and unspeakable malice.

The Immolation Cult

Founded 2,000 years ago by Xu Fu, who deceived Emperor Qin with child sacrifices for immortality, the cult opens a portal to Penglai Island, a nexus of the living and the dead. Emperors, lured by eternal life, fueled the evil god’s power, trapping souls in its infernal flames.

The Fifth Floor’s Horrors

In 1990s Taiwan, tycoon Liu Wansheng, obsessed with immortality, masters the cult’s forbidden arts. He kills his son to forge a guardian spirit, the Furnace Keeper, and manipulates followers into suicidal sacrifices. The ritual backfires: Liu is consumed by hellfire, but the daughter’s soul remains trapped in Xu Fu’s Soul-Refining Furnace, eternally tormented.

Gameplay

A decade later, the surviving twin boy hears his sister’s pleas in dreams. Guided by a medium, he enters the Netherworld to uncover the truth and seek redemption.
