Overview

Preserve the Union or break way as the Confederacy in the first expansion to The Armchair Historian's Fire & Maneuver. Recreate The War Between the States or pit America against Europe in radical matchups! American Civil War expansion for F&M introduces new unique factions, battle maps, scenarios, music, and campaigns of America's deadliest war.

Factions

Take command of two new factions: the United or Confederate States of America. Enlist 38 unique units including the famous Union Iron Brigade or the Confederate Louisiana Tigers. The two American nations can equip the breech-loading Sharps rifle even during the Glory Age (1853-1866), providing a unique challenge to their European counterparts.


The United States of America
The Union Army is a flexible and affordable faction featuring a variety of specialized troops drawn from all corners of their young nation, ranging from Custer’s rapid-firing cavalry brigade to the lethal U.S. Sharpshooters... but beware the difficulties of coordinating such a large, incohesive body of troops.

The Confederate States of America
The South prides itself on the offensive spirit of its soldiers, who, if led properly, can rout a superior enemy through audacious maneuvers, or disrupt his interior lines with rugged cavalry... but beware the limits which your economy places on the number of incohesive men you can field.

Campaigns

This expansion includes two campaigns, voiced by the educational YouTubers "The Armchair Historian" and "Warhawk."


Eastern Theater: Experience the Eastern Theater of the Civil War, where iconic battles like Antietam and Gettysburg shaped the nation's fate. Command Union or Confederate forces in a strategic struggle for supremacy in the heart of the Confederacy.

Western Theater: Venture into the Western Theater of the Civil War, a gritty and brutal contest to control the Mississippi River and the heartlands. Lead Union or Confederate armies through pivotal campaigns, from Shiloh to Vicksburg, altering the course of history.
