Crossroads Walker
Trained in the ways of voodoo from a young age, Jeremiah Scruggs grew up restless and hungry for success. Using sleight of hand and party tricks as a performer, he concealed his true knowledge—and intentions.

Carrion’s Call
Buzzards and scavengers descend when this Rival 78 is heard. It's said that they follow the gleam of its barrel from beyond the veil itself. One man's feast is another's grave.

Grave Filler
This Conversion Chain Pistol lives up to its name, granting angels’ wings to many a target as it drops them into their graves. Its silvered barrel gleams in even the darkest settings, offering a hint at the hereafter’s light.

Taste of Midnight
There’s nothing like grave dust to purify even the most potent venom. The Crossroads Walker harnessed the power at the door between this world and the next to offer this Antidote Shot, though he shares it only reluctantly with those he trusts most.

The orphan Jeremiah Scruggs grew up at the knee of one of Louisiana’s most powerful houngans, and learned the deeper rites of voodoo from him through the years. By the time he was a man, he was steeped in the ancient knowledge his mentor had taught him, but rather than follow in those traditional footsteps, he decided he wanted to strike it rich instead. Turning his back on his training, he set out on his own and learned card-sharping and sleight of hand to go with his true knowledge.
For years, he wandered, playing the alternating roles of card sharp, fortune teller, and gunman as needed to survive. He excelled at all, and his quick hands and steely eye gave him an advantage in pretty much any situation he found himself in.
Tired of traveling alone, he eventually fell in with a series of traveling carnivals. They were all too small for his ambitions, however, and he rapidly outgrew each until at last, the Murder Circus crossed his path. He signed on with them and, when the HelioStone tried to embrace him, he simply laughed. His act combines genuine powers with tricks and stunts of the common stage magician, but he also does more intimate, “private” showings wherein he claims to speak to spirits and even summon the dead.
All for a modest fee, of course.
But lately Scruggs has sensed the air around the Circus changing. New winds are blowing, trouble is coming, and perhaps it is time for him to separate his fate from the Circus’. And what the mystic arts can’t do for him, his guns – never neglected and always ready to use – can.
