Mcat is a desktop reading app designed to provide you with a customizable, efficient, and focused reading experience. All reading features can run offline locally, giving you full control over your data.

EPUB, PDF, TXT, MarkDown, JSON, HTML, XML, CSV, JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, CBZ

More formats are planned for future support.

• Customizable typography – Adjust font size, line height, margins, alignment, background color, text color, letter spacing, and more. Supported for both EPUB and plain text readers.

• Customizable window – Adjust window corner radius, transparency, and optionally hide the window border.

• Multi-color highlighting – Supports multiple highlight colors and line styles (background highlight, underline, dotted underline, double underline), with customizable text color.

• Note system – Manage notes for the current book and globally, with quick navigation to note locations.

• Replacement rules – Supports custom text replacement rules to help clean up typographic noise.

• Chapter rules – Supports custom chapter recognition rules to adapt to text files in different formats.

• Noise word filtering – Supports filtering common noise words in text.

• Style presets – Supports saving and switching between multiple reading style configurations.

• Local-first – All reading data is stored locally by default, never uploaded to any remote server.

• Private space – Password-protect sensitive books.

• LAN transfer – Quickly share books over the same network.

• WebDAV import – Supports importing books from WebDAV servers.

• Reading stats – Tracks reading time, word count, and open count, can be disabled in settings.

• Global search – Supports full-text search across all books.
