About Hell Of War: Combined Arms

Command the Operation, Not Just One Soldier

Hell Of War is a tactical FPS/RTS hybrid where command and direct action are combined within a single battle.

Observe the battlefield through a command drone, locate enemy forces, issue orders to your units, and deploy combat support. When the situation requires personal intervention, take direct control of an infantry commander, an armored vehicle, or an attack drone.

Switch between battlefield observation, issuing orders, and direct unit control without separating the game into distinct strategy and action modes.

Plan the operation.

Coordinate your forces.

Personally intervene at decisive moments.

Control the Battlefield from Above

The command drone is the central tool for managing the operation.

Use it to:

  • conduct reconnaissance and locate enemy positions;

  • determine the direction of attack;

  • issue movement orders to infantry and armored vehicles;

  • call in artillery and other combat support;

  • select available units and drones;

  • monitor the battle in real time.

The view from above helps you assess the position of your forces, identify priority targets, and coordinate an advance. However, the outcome still depends on your decisions: a poor route, a premature attack, or the wrong target can result in the loss of a unit or vehicle.

Issue Orders and Coordinate Your Forces

Each type of unit has its own role. Successfully completing an operation requires more than simply sending every available unit toward the same objective.

Infantry can attack enemy positions, hold key locations, and operate alongside armored vehicles. While directly controlling the infantry commander, you can issue orders to the entire squad or to its individual teams.

Armored vehicles provide firepower and support infantry during an advance. Units select targets and engage enemies automatically, while your task is to determine their positions, direction of movement, and the right moment to commit them to battle. Vehicle ammunition is limited, so armored units must be used carefully.

Drones and artillery help destroy identified targets, attack groups of enemies, and support advancing units. Every use of combat support consumes available resources, so it must be deployed thoughtfully.

Personally Enter the Battle

When orders alone are not enough, you can move from command to direct participation in the battle.

At any moment, you can leave the command-drone view and take control of an available unit:

  • control an infantry commander from a first-person perspective;

  • operate a tank or another armored vehicle;

  • manually guide an FPV drone into its target;

  • operate a bomb-drop drone;

  • return to the command drone and continue managing the operation.

Switching between the command view and direct control does not activate a separate mode or pause the battle. While you control one unit, the others continue carrying out their existing orders.

Use Different Types of Combat Support

Combat support in Hell Of War is a limited resource. Each type of strike has its own cost, power, accuracy, and area of effect.

Depending on the operation, you may have access to:

  • standard artillery strikes;

  • area artillery bombardments;

  • multiple-launch rocket systems;

  • precision-guided missiles;

  • heavy rocket and ballistic missile strikes;

  • attack drones;

  • specialized types of ammunition.

Use combat support to engage individual targets, destroy groups of enemies, eliminate vehicles, or attack fortified positions. Every call consumes available resources, so choosing the wrong strike or using it too early may leave you without support later in the operation.

Adapt to the Situation

In Hell Of War, the outcome of a battle depends on more than shooting accuracy.

You will need to consider:

  • the positions of your own units;

  • the location and types of enemy forces;

  • available ammunition and combat support;

  • the direction of the advance;

  • open terrain, cover, and buildings;

  • the right moment to continue the attack or change your plan.

Infantry, armored vehicles, drones, and artillery do not replace one another. They are most effective when used together.

Key Features

  • FPS/RTS gameplay without separate modes — move from the command drone to direct unit control without stopping the battle.

  • Operation management — coordinate infantry, armored vehicles, drones, and combat support.

  • Command drone — conduct reconnaissance, locate enemies, issue orders, and call in support from above.

  • Direct unit control — personally control an infantry commander, armored vehicles, FPV drones, and bomb-drop drones.

  • Infantry orders — while controlling the commander, issue orders to the entire squad or its individual teams to move, attack, hold position, or follow the commander.

  • Different types of combat support — use artillery, multiple-launch rocket systems, precision-guided missiles, and heavy strikes.

  • Limited resources — preserve your infantry, vehicle ammunition, and available combat support.

  • Destructible environments — artillery, vehicles, and other weapons can destroy buildings and trees.

  • Consequences for every decision — the wrong route, position, or moment of attack can result in the loss of a unit, a vehicle, or the entire mission.

Your Battle. Your Plan. Your Decisions.

In Hell Of War, you are not a lone soldier capable of defeating an entire army.

You command forces across the battlefield, determine the direction of attack, manage limited resources, and personally enter the battle when the situation demands it.

The outcome of the operation depends on reconnaissance, positioning, unit coordination, and your ability to adjust the plan during combat.

Command the operation.

Coordinate your forces.

Personally decide the outcome of critical moments.
