Shrouded Lands

Shrouded Lands is a turn-based RPG. Lead The Witch, Exorcist, and Demonologist in a journey across swamps, forests, mountains and dungeons. In challenging turn-based combat, you will face demons, their disciples, possessed, and ancient creatures - each with unique skills and behaviours. Understanding your enemy is the key to victory - anticipate their plans, predict their strongest attacks, and exploit their moments of vulnerability.

A dark adventure story where three mystics are leaving Last Shelter of dying humanity and entering demon-held lands, seized over centuries of war. Different goals, but same path, a path that may reveal hope for the rise of humanity.

Combat

Planning Phase - the foundation of battle. No actions take place here. Here, your decisions alone will determine the outcome of the round. Once all participants have made their choices, the clash begins: attacks, blocks, bleeding, deaths, exorcisms, and mind shackles. Here you only watch to see how effective your plans turn out to be.

Knowing the enemy’s next move is the key to an effective battle. Force them to plan before your characters, revealing their intentions. Or study your foes to anticipate their actions - each one follows its own logic, shaped by the flow of combat.

Dread, Anger, and Madness - three Torments that shackle the mind and restrict the actions available during planning. For example, Anger forces a healer to abandon their role and lash out in a flurry of weak attacks. Dread, on the other hand, blocks any offensive actions. Madness randomly disables part of your skills, which can unexpectedly become a serious problem. But be careful - mystics are also vulnerable to these Torments.

You will encounter possessed enemies, and killing them is not the only way. You can perform an exorcism to free their souls and earn their gratitude. But your own characters are not safe - demons and their followers are capable of bending the will of mystics.

Characters & Builds

Armor. Although you control only three characters, the Armor-Skill system allows for diverse builds and flexible strategies. Each character can equip different armor, which defines their appearance and available skills - but their core stats are not affected by changing armor.

Skill upgrade. Skills upgrades are rare, but they have a significant impact. By choosing specific upgrades, you shape your build: higher damage output or additional wound application? Improved defense or energy recovery? Additional bleeding to an enemy or longer bleeding duration? Wise upgrading will make your battle tactics more efficient.

Journey

Locations. Your journey will unfold in a sequence of locations - swamps, forests, mountains, and dungeons, where you will encounter a variety of enemies.

Path. You will choose your path under harsh conditions: growing fatigue, limited supplies for recovery, enemies all around - and the unknown ahead.

Fatigue and rest. Party fatigue grows with every step, weakening your mystics in combat. Search for supplies and set up camps to reduce fatigue, heal, and recover.
