"Gal, Geek and Summer ギャルと優等生と夏休み" is a youth themed visual novel centered around the protagonist, Rui Izumi, as he forms a friendship with the reserved honor student Asuka Adachi and the cheerful, caring Akane Hidaka, each of who are facing their own personal struggles.
Through seasonal events and everyday moments, the three gradually grow closer, experiencing both the awkwardness and warmth of human connection.
◆Story
Spring, the start of a new school year.
The protagonist Rui Izumi finds hhimself curious about his quiet and reserved classmate, Asuka Adachi, an honor student who tends to keep to herself.
Noticing Asuka's isolation, the outgoing gal Akane Hidaka steps in and reaches out to her, changing the relationship between the three of them little by little.
They hang out, eat crepes, take photo booth pictures, and study for exams together.
As their bond deepens, the three of them slowly begin to understand what “friendship” really means, while facing rumors, loneliness, and awkward misunderstandings.
With the arrival of Akane's longtime friends, Midori and Seiji, their relationships grow even more complicated.
As Asuka smiles more and more, a subtle shift begins to stir in Akane’s heart...
As the seasons change, the sports festival, summer vacation, and Tanabata draw near.
Each of them takes a step forward from the time they once spent alone, nurturing the bonds of friendship in this gentle coming-of-age story.
◆Characters
Asuka Adachi
A shy honor student.
Good at studying but not great with people, she was always alone until she met Akane and the others who opened up a new world for her.
She speaks politely and is a bit timid, but gradually warms up and smiles more often.
Akane Hidaka
A caring and proactive, bright, and outgoing gal.
She supports Rui and Asuka from behind the scenes, but she can be a little awkward when it comes to herself.
Sometimes she overthinks things about Asuka and ends up going in circles, but her straightforward personality is part of her charm.
Midori Tomiyama
Akane's longtime friend who looks even more like a gal than Akane, but is actually very sensible and considerate inside.
She's such a skilled shooter in the carnival game that she got banned from participating.
Though her first impression can be tough, she’s actually very kind and acts as a reliable big sister figure supporting Asuka’s growth.
Rui Izumi
An ordinary male student. Nothing particularly special, but a kind hearted protagonist.
He gets caught up in the complicated relationships of the girls around him, but learns what it means to care for others in his own way.
He can be easily swayed, but when it counts, he’s the one you can count on.
