Heavy Burden VR is an atmospheric first-person VR platformer where the player must carry a heavy stone through the sandy ruins of an ancient world. Every step is a struggle against not only physical obstacles, such as falling platforms and flying barriers, but also against the philosophical questions of existence. The game is inspired by the ideas of Albert Camus about the human struggle with absurdity and the endless search for meaning.
Story
You are a nameless hero who awakens among ruins where eternity is frozen in stone and marble. Your goal is to deliver the stone to the burning brazier. But why? Who set this task, and what will change if you succeed?
On your path, you will encounter symbols and voices representing two opposing worldviews: traditional religious faith and the philosophy of the absurd, where meaning is not given but chosen. The question is not what awaits at the end of the path, but why walk it at all.
Gameplay
Each level is a trial where you must carry the stone from the start to the brazier at the end. The stone is heavy: it slows movement, limits jumps, and demands focus and effort.
Gameplay combines:
VR immersion — feel the weight and control the stone with your own hands and body.
Platforming puzzles — precise jumps and balance on dangerous terrain.
Dynamic challenges — overcome falling platforms and flying obstacles that block your progress.
Environmental interaction — use ruins and architectural elements to advance.
