Ink & Steel is a real-time tactics game about commanding thousands of soldiers across massive fantasy battlefields.
Lead diverse factions — disciplined knights, skeletal hordes, elven archers, goblin swarms, viking raiders, samurai clans — each with unique units and towering monsters. The setting is fantasy, but the warfare isn't. Morale breaks. Flanked units panic. Soldiers who watch their line crumble don't stand and fight to the last man.
Command your forces at the formation level. Select units, drag them into position, and issue orders — advance, charge, hold, or fall back. The battles are massive, but control stays intuitive.
Every unit has real mass. Charges transfer force on impact. Soldiers push, stumble, and give ground. When heavy cavalry hits a line, the result depends on what they hit, and how fast — scatter skirmishers, or shatter against prepared positions.
Charge damage scales with momentum — and spends it directly. A charging Knight hits hard, but each impact slows them down.
Charge damage disabled for demonstration.
Fight through procedurally generated battles, building and evolving your army between engagements. Lose troops permanently and gain new ones through events. Make hard choices about who to reinforce and who to sacrifice.
Set up your own engagements across varied terrain. Test army compositions, experiment with tactics, or just watch thousands of soldiers collide.
