Chessillo fuses chess with an army-building roguelike.
Your pieces move like they do in chess, but their abilities don't play by the rules: a pawn can come back from the dead, a king can inherit another piece's movement, and a rook can cross the board through a portal.
Recruit pieces, equip them with abilities from different factions, and topple three enemy kings.
Three ways to win
Not every battle is won the same way.
RegicideCapture the enemy king before he reaches yours.
EliminationLeave no enemy piece standing.
SurvivalHold out for as many turns as it takes while the board fills with threats.
The same army can feel unstoppable in one battle and clumsy in the next. The trick is reading what the objective demands before you start sacrificing pieces.
Three playable princes
Necromancer Prince — Death"His pieces do not rest in peace."
His fallen pieces can return as specters beside your King.
With Ritual, you sacrifice an adjacent ally and your King absorbs its movement.
Withered Prince — Time"Time consumes everything, himself included."
Once per act, he can rewind a full turn.
With Final Hour, when one of his pieces falls, the entire enemy army is caught in time.
Wandering Prince — Space"The board bends to his will."
He starts with extra inventory space and turns the board into a web of shortcuts.
With Portal, you open two linked gateways and move pieces from one to the other.
Between battles
After every battle, you improve your army.
Recruit new pieces, tweak the ones you already have, and make your calls in the shop. Some pieces are just sacrificial fodder. Others end up winning you a battle thanks to an ability that looked minor at first.
Three acts, three kings
Each run is split into 3 acts.
At the end of each one, an enemy king awaits, with his own abilities and an event exclusive to that act. He's not just a boss with more health: he's a whole new way of pressuring the board.
Defeat all three kings, or leave your army buried along the way.
