What do I get in the demo?

The demo is basically exactly like the base game, but you can't ascend. You can still finish the tutorial, push your character to and past zone 100, get as many in-game achievements as you want and unlock all kinds of cool talents and gear. You can make it to the point of "endgame", but then your character can go no further!

• That's like 8-20h of playtime depending on how active and optimized you are.

Do I keep my character if I buy the base game?

Yes you do! Cloud saves are linked. So if you ever link the demo to the base game, your hero will continue where he left off and you'll instantly get a flood of Steam Achievements.

So what's the downside of starting with the demo?

Literally no downside. For you anyways, I don't get my five bucks.
