Battlements is a coastal-defense arcade reimagining of the Rampart classic, set in the Golden Age of Piracy. A pirate invasion has reached the Marinian coast! As Commander Edward Hawke, you'll hold the line cannon by cannon, and between waves you'll rebuild your fortress piece by piece.
Each battle runs on a three-phase rhythm that's simple to learn and fast to replay:
Place your cannons. Every shot leaves your barrel the moment you fire it — there's no auto-aim on the coast. Put each cannon where you'll want to aim it.
Fight. Pirate ships sail in from the deep water; sloops peck at your walls, galleons beach and drop grunts onto your shore, and Man-of-War broadsides crater the land itself. The closer to the water your guns stand, the less time each shot spends in the air.
Rebuild. The quarrymen deliver a single tetromino-shaped stone. Rotate it, drop it where it fits, and any land your walls fully enclose gets claimed for the Crown.
Between rounds, the war room offers a choice of three cards — a relic, a tactic, or a curse on the enemy — whose effect carries you through the next wave.
A five-stage campaign across the Marinian shoreline, from a smugglers' outshore all the way to the twin coasts of The Peninsula
1v1 and 4-player free-for-all online multiplayer over Steam
A card system with four unlockable categories: super shots, buffs, campaign debuffs, and multiplayer debuffs
Three difficulty levels with their own economy, plus a star rating that pays out doubloons for the Armory
Persistent Armory upgrades: every category of card can be unlocked and levelled; cosmetic skins for your cannons, walls, and castle
The full version will bring more ships, more cards, additional cannon and wall types, endless and campaign-after-campaign modes, and a deeper war room - but the demo is already a full pirate campaign plus multiplayer, front to back.
Hold fast and ready every gun on the coast! The Crimson Waves Empire draws ever closer to Marinia...
