The Underground Press is an atmospheric first-person psychological horror game. Playing as a journalist, you venture into closed and isolated subway tunnels to uncover the true reason behind their sealing. To escape back to the surface, you must explore abandoned stations, solve interactive puzzles with equipment, and search for documents while saving your life from the dangers lurking in the dark.
Atmosphere of the Post-Soviet Subway: Explore three dark, interconnected stations. The game's visual style is a collective image of classic Soviet and Russian subways, crafted based on real-world photos. Tunnels, stations, quarantine zones, and abandoned utility rooms await you.
Uncovering the Past: Search for scattered notes, secret orders, and internal memos. Each document you find helps reconstruct the timeline and sheds light on the true reason behind the subway's closure.
Interactive Environment & Puzzles: Parts of the subway are pitch black, and to progress, you must restore power — or, conversely, turn off the lights in the right places. Search for fuel canisters to start old backup generators, seal hot steam leaks, and gather clues to crack combinations.
Danger at Every Step: The tunnels and stations require alertness for survival. Mistakes here are costly: toxic gas poisoning, hot steam bursts, electric shock from electrified water, or colliding with those who dwell in the dark of the underground.
Non-linear Ending: Your actions directly affect the outcome of the game. Depending on the amount of evidence found and documents read, you will be able to reach two different endings that will determine the protagonist's fate.

Analog Video Aesthetics: For those seeking maximum immersion, the game features a toggleable VHS screen-recording effect, making the atmosphere of the abandoned subway feel even more gritty and realistic.
