What are keyshops?About F.R.E.D.'s Ascent

F.R.E.D.'s Ascent is a 2.5D rage platformer about climbing out of a world built to keep you asleep.
You are F.R.E.D. — Fragmented Recursive Entity Daemon. A small machine, awakened in the dim hum of pipes far beneath a world you were never meant to see. Mother kept you down here. She made the climb difficult on purpose.
What is up there?
Nine zones. One goal at the very top.
Climb
A charged jump system — hold longer for more height, release with a direction for a flatter leap. Master both to cross the widest gaps.
Nine zones, each with its own physics. Standard pipes give way to sticky, slippery honeycomb, then ice that won’t let you stop, a crystal garden that bounces you on every landing, a vertical shaft with crosswinds, snow-covered rooftops, and a low-gravity ascent toward Mother’s door.
2.5D rendering on a hand-built 2D grid. Real platforming feel, with depth and light layered on top.
9 lore fragments hidden along the route — Mother’s voice, the system she built, and the reasons she chose to keep you down here.
42 achievements, from gentle (your first jump) to obsessive (collecting every screw in the game in a single No-Save run).
Subtle in-air control — an intentional flaw Mother was never able to patch.
EN / DE / FR / ES / IT — UI, menus, and achievement texts fully localized.
Three modes — pick your climb
Wanderer. The merciful path. A checkpoint at the start of every zone. If you fall too far, you can teleport back to the lowest platform you’ve reached in that zone. Most players choose Wanderer. There is no shame in that.
No-Save. The honest path. No checkpoints, no second chances. One fatal fall and Mother resets the entire shaft. Some achievements only unlock here — because some things are only true if you risk them.
Speedrun. A variant of No-Save with a millisecond timer that starts on your first real jump. Your time is recorded on the local Speedrun Board under Any% / All Memories / Full Clear, depending on what you collect on the way up.
The studio
F.R.E.D.'s Ascent is a Buddycore Studio project — built late at night, somewhere between obsession and stubbornness, by a very small team (me) wondering what would happen if a platformer felt like an actual climb. Slow. Painful. Worth it.
If you are ready, F.R.E.D. — climb anyway.
