About Awkward Night

It's late. The bar smells like neon and bad decisions. A regular slumps under the BOOR sign. The bartender's already seen how your night ends.

Awkward Night is a short, hand-painted cyberpunk noir point-and-click. No combat, no fail states that matter — just verbs, drinks, strangers, and the slow, awkward pull of a city that's been waiting for you.

Episode 1 — The Meeting (~30 minutes)

  • Mix a cocktail nobody's ordered in years.
  • Trade an empty glass and a subway token for a key you weren't supposed to find.
  • Step outside. The COCKTAILS sign is humming. Someone is waiting.
  • Hand over what you made. Hear what she calls it.
  • Decide whether to follow her into the rain.

Features

  • Hand-painted cyberpunk-noir locations with subtle live atmosphere — drifting fog, falling rain, distant headlights, neon flicker.
  • SCUMM-style hover verbs and a tactile inventory you actually need to think about.
  • A timed cocktail puzzle with a "perfect mix" pour, a wipe-the-glass second chance, and a bartender who comments on every bad call.
  • Multiple endings (good, fast, slow, "thrown out", "didn't wait") — none of them really kind.
  • Procedural ambient soundscape: rain, neon hum, bar chatter, subway rumble, lighter flicks, footsteps trailing off.
  • Plays in landscape on desktop. Built to expand episode-by-episode.

What this is, and isn't

This is an indie narrative experiment by one developer. It's short. It's atmospheric. It's the start of a series — Episode 2 is in the works. If the world here is one you'd want more of, please wishlist and follow. That signal is what decides whether more episodes happen.
