About A Rhapsody In Steam Demo
A Rhapsody in Steam is an adventure RPG.
At the far north of the continent of Tythun, the Dark Lord has long held its ground. The expedition to put an end to it has been delayed, again and again — and yet the railway keeps pushing north, carrying your carriage with it.
As the Hero's advisor, you and the Hero and the Guide ride together through one station after another. Along the way: imperial officials to deal with, the Guilds and their banners, businesses bearing the imperial crest, travelers of unclear origin, and those who claim to work for the Dark Lord. At every stop, there is something you can do. There is also something you can leave alone.
The Dark Lord is the topic of the moment — front-page news every week, arguments running hot in the taverns, more charm-stalls on the corners than there were last month. But it seems no two people are talking about quite the same Dark Lord.
The train continues north.
What waits there — everyone has their own version.

Game Features
👥 A Loose, Ever-Changing Party
Companions will gather around the Hero—each with their own strengths, each capable of handling different problems. But this is no fixed party. They are not subordinates, just fellow travelers who happen to be on the same train. They may join you in a quiet town one morning, and leave just as quietly another night.
And the Hero always sits across from you. Your relationship will evolve over the course of the journey—from two strangers thrown together, to something deeper. The road ahead is still long.
🏙 Places Worth Returning To
A handful of places you'll revisit—meeting the people there, getting involved in their troubles, leaving your mark through each encounter, and perhaps remembering a corner of it long after you've gone.
🎻 A Rhapsody
You'll decide your next move from inside a small carriage, then panic moments later about running out of seasoning. You'll meet officials who say absurd things with a straight face, traders who've turned the Dark Lord into a business, strangers on the roadside telling stories that lead nowhere — and travelers whose origins you'll never quite place.
Headlines shout. Distant rumors arrive without confirmation. The world looks like it's still running, the way it always has.
