About 古都千年 Demo
Amid the ringing camel bells of the Silk Road, Ancient Capital: A Thousand Years invites players into a town beside the great trade routes, where they will witness the rise and fall of a settlement across the ages.
Set against the historical backdrop of the Silk Road, which connected Asia, Europe, and Africa from the Han dynasty onward, the game recreates an era of political, economic, and cultural exchange between East and West.
As the master of the town, players must plan production, develop industries, and respond to a wide range of dynamic challenges. Temperature changes will have a direct impact on daily life. In the freezing winter, residents will urgently need fuel and warm supplies. Without enough reserves, frostbite and disease may quickly follow. In the heat of summer, water supply becomes critical, and players must prevent dehydration and heatstroke.
The resident health and disease system is closely tied to cultural exchange along the Silk Road. Foreign illnesses may arrive with passing caravans, and a single outbreak could spread through the entire town. Players must build clinics, stockpile medicine, and hire physicians in time to protect the health of their people.
Every resident in the town has a complete life journey, with birth, aging, illness, death, marriage, and farewell all unfolding over time. Players may watch children grow into craftsmen, help young men and women form families, and say goodbye to elders at the end of their lives. These grounded details bring each resident to life and add a deeper sense of humanity to the management experience.
While managing the town, players must also send expedition teams to explore new territories, establish trade with discovered cities and nations, and obtain exotic goods and resources. Historical elements are woven into the experience. Players may encounter figures such as Zhang Qian, while adapting their strategies to the policies and cultures of different dynasties, immersing themselves in the charm and transformation of Silk Road civilization.
Developer's Note
As the development team behind Ancient Capital: A Thousand Years, we have always been deeply inspired by the grandeur of the Silk Road. This transcontinental route was more than a path of trade; it was a bond of cultural exchange. It carried the dreams of countless merchants and travelers, and witnessed the meeting and coexistence of Eastern and Western civilizations.
With this game, we hope to let you feel the warmth of the Silk Road.
Not just numerical growth, but management decisions that shape the fate of a town.
Not rigid task chains, but personal choices made within the flow of history.
Not a cold simulation, but a living recreation of the prosperity and change of the Silk Road through rich details.
We believe that the true charm of a game lies in experience: the joy of seeing a caravan return fully loaded, the thoughtfulness of redesigning your town in response to policy changes, and even the excitement of unexpectedly meeting a historical figure. These are the moments we most want to share with you.
In terms of exploration, we plan to bring players a complete world map experience. The vast lands of the Silk Road will gradually unfold, from the deserts of the Hexi Corridor to the oasis city-states of Central Asia, and onward to the flourishing cities of Europe. Players' caravans and expedition teams will be able to follow historically inspired trade routes, uncover mysterious ruins hidden across the map, discover distinctive towns, and engage more deeply with foreign civilizations.
We will also greatly expand the game's historical event content. In addition to classic historical scenes already planned, more lesser-known stories will be woven into the game. Whether they involve trade disputes, cultural exchange, or policy changes caused by dynastic shifts, these events will appear through random encounters or story missions, allowing players to more deeply feel how the tides of history influence the development of their town.
Of course, as an independent game, we know there is still room for improvement. We will continue to optimize and refine the experience, making the charm of the Silk Road feel even more vivid. If you are also drawn to that brilliant era of history, we welcome you to join us on this journey and walk this thousand-year trade route once again through the game.
At present, around 50% of the game's core gameplay has been completed, including the full town management system, dynamic temperature simulation, resident health and life cycle systems, and several historical event scenarios. In future development, we will continue to deepen the overall experience.
Planned additions include a town soil environment system, which will make farmland more varied. Different soil types will affect crop growth cycles and yields, requiring players to plan crop rotation and fertilization based on soil fertility, adding more strategy to agricultural production.
We also plan to introduce water management systems, making water resources a key part of town development. From digging canals and building dams to balancing irrigation, drinking water, and daily use, every decision will influence the growth and prosperity of the town.
