About Curlith
Curlith is a tactical curling game set on a sheet and stones faithfully created based on real curling specifications, combining uniquely tuned physics-based stone behavior with simple card effects.
Use stones with special effects, read the changing condition of the ice with each shot, and deliver the perfect throw!
The game includes two modes: Single Play and Local Match.
Single Play
Single Play is a challenge mode where you aim to complete objectives on randomly generated board positions.
You can use three types of cards: Normal Stone, Lane Shift Stone, and Double Curl Stone. You can choose from three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard. The higher the difficulty, the more likely you are to face dense board positions.
Local Match
In Local Match, two players split into the red team and the yellow team and compete against each other. In each round, both teams throw 6 stones each, for a total of 12 shots. Damage is then calculated based on the positions of the stones in the house. The more stones you leave closer to the tee than your opponent, the more damage you deal.
Before the match, you choose 3 cards from 8 types of stone cards to create your Starting Deck. The first half of each round is a board-building phase where both players throw Stone Pillars, which become fixed in place where they stop. From the 7th total shot, the match enters the Free Card Phase, where you can use your selected cards. After the 7th total shot ends, all Stone Pillars return to Normal Stones at once.
Between rounds, there is a card swap. From two candidates chosen from cards that are not in your hand, you can select one card and swap it with a card in your hand. Victory depends not only on shot accuracy, but also on card selection and how you build the board.
*This game mode requires two controllers.
Stone and Ice Behavior
A stone’s speed loss and curl amount change depending on its speed, spin, and the ice condition. A stone with high linear speed tends to lose less speed, and a stone with high spin also tends to slide farther. Stones curl in the direction of their spin, and when they pass over areas where the ice condition differs, they may curl more strongly. If the spin speed is close to 0, the curl becomes less stable and the stone follows a knuckle-like path.
The ice condition is not fixed. Areas where stones have passed or where sweeping has been used gradually become more slippery. Slippery areas are shown in blue, and the effect accumulates over time. However, once the ice condition progresses beyond a certain point, a reversal phenomenon occurs, causing behavior that differs from normal.
Sweeping is the action of polishing the ice to help the stone slide more easily. Full Sweep has little effect on curl and mainly helps reduce speed loss. Sweeping on the side opposite the spin direction makes the curl stronger, while sweeping on the spin direction side makes it easier to reduce the curl. By choosing where to sweep, you can adjust how far the stone travels and how it curls.
